Delmer Leon Hyman, 88, went home to his Savior on Thursday, March 28, 2024. Delmer was born on August 16, 1935 in Bertram, Texas and lived in that area until he moved to San Antonio, Texas to attend high school and college at International Bible College. There he met the love of his life, Juanita Dodge. He and Juanita were married in 1954 and dedicated the rest of their lives to serving the Lord. Delmer preached the Word in countless places all over the United States and throughout the world. He was known for his big smile and even bigger laugh. Delmer had a heart big enough to love everyone, and never said an unkind word about anyone.
He was preceded by his loving wife of 63 years, Juanita Dodge Hyman. He is also preceded by his brothers, Truman and I.T. Jr.; his sister, Virginia Garner; his daughter-in-law, Patsy Hyman; and his grandson, John Israel Cathcart. He is survived by his brothers, Paul (Joyce) and James (Marjorie) Hyman. He also leaves behind his adoring children: Nathan Hyman, Gloria (John) Cathcart, Noel (Steve) Shives, Anna Joy Hyman, and Koni (Eugene) Starcke, and his grandchildren: Caleb, Rachel, Autumn, Bethany, Joseph, Christine, Stephanie, Candice, J.D., Bryan, Crystal, Deanna, Mandi, Josiah, and Judah. He would have proudly told you that he also had 35 great-grandchildren!
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to A Table In the Wilderness, where Delmer served for many years as a teacher and mentor to men battling addiction. These donations may be coordinated through the Family Church office: make checks payable to Family Church with “Table In the Wilderness” in the memo.
