Della “Dutch” Martin, age 95, passed away Sunday June 8, 2014. The funeral service will be 11:00am Thursday June 12, 2014 at The First Baptist Church Sheffield, AL. Visitation will be at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Interment will follow service in Sheffield Oakwood Cemetery. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Herman “Shag” Martin on June 13, 1987; father Flem Armstrong; mother Dora Pair Armstrong; sisters Eva Carey and Flo Inman; brothers: Amon and Coleman Armstrong. She is survived by two sons Ronald Martin of Hermitage, TN and Donald Martin of Atlanta, GA; grandchildren Cindy Simon, Missy Clendenen, Rodney Martin, Katelyn Martin, Jonathan Martin; great grandchildren: Zane Martin, Jordan Simon, William Clendenen, Katherine Clendenen. “Dutch” was a member of the First Baptist Church of Sheffield since 1937. She was a member of the Martha’s Willing Workers Sunday School Class and has been a “Pink Lady” Volunteer at Helen Keller Hospital for a number of years.
