Funeral service for Delbert Pruitt Vest, 93, will be Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 2:00 PM at Shady Grove Baptist Church with Bro. Tom Campbell and Bro. Wendell Callahan officiating and Peck Funeral Home directing. Burial will be in Johnson Chapel Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday, June 5, 2019 from 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM at Peck Funeral Home.
Mr. Vest died on Monday, June 3, 2019 at his residence. He was born June 16, 1925, in Morgan County to Bevie William Vest and Azilee Long Vest. He was employed as a farmer and also worked for Fruehauf as an Assembly Helper, prior to his retirement. He was a devoted husband, a loving father and a caring grandfather, who treasured his time with his family. He was a dedicated member of the Shady Grove Baptist Church in Neel, Alabama for over sixty years. Preceding him in death were his wife: Wilma Hensley Vest, his parents, a brother: Raymond S. Vest, and three great granddaughters: Hanna, Hailey and Maygan Lacy.
