DECATUR-Decatur Police are looking for an active shooter. The shooting took place on Sunday, June 7. Here is what Decatur Police are looking for and what they know about the shooting:
“On June 7, 2015 at 10:05 pm, Morgan County Central Dispatch received a shooting call at the intersection of Cleveland Ave at Cedar St SW. Officers with the Decatur Police Department’s Patrol Division and First Responders were dispatched to the scene, arriving at 10:10 pm.
Robert Navarrete Jr. was located at the scene suffering from a gunshot wound to his neck. Robert was transported by Medflight to Huntsville Hospital. Robert is currently in critical condition.
Detectives with the Violent Crimes Unit were notified and responded to the scene.
Detectives learned there was a large group of people involved in a verbal altercation. During the altercation someone fired a gun striking Robert in the neck. Officers with the Decatur Police Department are actively searching for the shooter. The investigation is ongoing.
