Debra West age 58 of Corinth MS, passed away June 3 after a brief illness at Magnolia Regional Hospital where she worked as a surgical sterilization technician for 20+ years.
She had a great love for animals. She would feed every stray she came across, giving many of them a place in her loving home. She was jokingly called the dog whisperer. She was the kindest, most caring woman and was a blessing to everyone she met. Stranger was not in her vocabulary. She adored her family and friends.
She leaves behind to cherish her memory her brother Joel Smith (Andrea) of Russellville and niece Dakota Bates (Jason) of Haleyville. Her great niece Ezra Bates and great nephews Abel, Beau, and Siah Bates, who will forever miss their crazy aunt poodin.
She was preceded in death by her parents Jack and Peggy Smith and the love of her life, Ernie West.
The visitation only will be 1:00 – 3:00 p.m. Thursday, June 08, 2023, at Spry Memorial Chapel, Russellville, AL. A private family graveside service will be at Franklin Memory Gardens of Russellville.
