Debra Anne (Spurlin) Frey passed away at age 70 on July 24, 2021, in Anniston, AL, due to complications from COVID.
Debra exuded a loving, energetic, and generous aura to all who knew her. Her hobbies of gardening, remodeling, pets, photography, and cooking kept her very busy. There was always a project in the works. So many will remember her generosity when she brought food for events. She prided herself in sharing food made with care, busy hands, and a resourceful mind. It made her so happy to see people enjoying her cooking and being full and happy.
Debra predeceased by her parents Horace and Marion Spurlin and survived by two brothers, Robert (wife Donna) Spurlin, David (wife Rosa) Spurlin; two children, her daughter Jennifer Lynn Taft (husband Mark) and son Michael Johns (wife Stephanie). She was blessed with 4 grandchildren, Brooklyn Overton (husband Noel), Ethan, Ean, and Christopher.
Debra requested there not be a viewing or funeral service, so the family will be facilitating a small gathering to celebrate her life for friends and family to visit and share their memories between 1pm and 5 pm on Sat July 31st at Leatherwood Baptist Church. Leatherwood Baptist Church is located at 2709 Old Gadsden Hwy, Anniston, AL 36206.
