Debi 'Oma' Phillips Profile PhotoDebra Ann Hopper Phillips age 64 passed away September 24, 2024, at Jackson Madison County General Hospital.

She was born July 24, 1960, the daughter of the late Peggy Junell Russell Luna and Roy Allen Hopper. She grew up in Jackson, TN and was a graduate of Jackson Central Merry High School.

She married John M. Phillips on September 22, 1995. They made their home in Henderson. Mr. Phillips preceded her in death on June 12, 2020.

She worked for Service Merchandise in Jackson for seventeen years until it closed. She the worked as a teller at Chester County Bank for several years. She last worked at Southwest Human Resources as central kitchen cook.

She was a member of Old Friendship Baptist Church.

She loved her kids and grandkids and spending time with them. They affectionately called her “Oma.”

She enjoyed her “girl trip” excursions with her friends.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by a son, Noah Phillips of Henderson, a daughter Rebecca Christine Gowens (Matthew) of Phoenix, AZ; her father, Roy Allen Hopper (Kathleen) of Vero Beach FL; four grandchildren, Loralai, Olivia, Casper ‘Buddy,’ and Gideon ‘Bear’ Gowens; a brother, Christopher Hopper (Tara) of Johns Creek, GA; four sisters-in-law, Judy Crowe (Bob) of Finger, Yvonne Johnson of Henderson, Anita Hawkins (Wes) of Sacramento, CA and Esther Phillips of Houston, TX, and a sister friend, Katrina Vince of Florence, AL., and a multitude of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

She was preceded in death by her mother, her husband, and by in-laws, James Wade (Ruth Ann).

Memorial services will be 3:00 PM Saturday at Old Friendship Baptist Church. The family will receive friends at the church beginning at 2:00 PM Saturday.
