Debra Anita Bohanan, age 67 of Decherd, passed away holding the hands of her family at St. Thomas Rutherford Medical Center on the evening of November 2, 2024. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on October 23, 1957, to the late Raymond and Mary Fergerson. Debra provided childcare for her livelihood and left many wonderful impressions and memories on the young people she cared for. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Jeff Fergerson,Larry Fergerson, Mike Fergerson, and Stacey Fergerson; and her best friend and sister, Shirley Pruett. Her most prized possessions were her family, and Debra leaves behind her loving husband of forty-seven years, Gerald Bohanan; daughters, Sabrina (Greg) Sanders, and Casie (Darryl) Burton; sons, Gerald Bohanan Jr, and Charlie Bohanan; grandchildren that were her whole world, Kelsey, DeAnna, Shelby, Ava, Faith, Jayda, Paisley, Annabelle, Ansley, Adam, and Austin; special grandson whom she raised from birth as her own, Gabe; great-grandson, Porter Shrum; special niece, Tiffany; and many more beloved nieces and nephews. Debra was known to many as Superwoman because of her positivity and strength. She fought a long and hard battle until her last breath. Her family will hold on to the love she gave them and continue to live on sharing her legacy. Visitation will be from 5-8pm on Tuesday, November 5, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, November 6, 2024, in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Interment will be at Watson Memorial Park.
