Debra-Smith-1469453573Deborah Lynn Smallwood Smith age 63 passed away July 24, 2016 at her home.

She was born October 20, 1952 in Charleston, MS the daughter of the late Hilton and JoAnn Miller Smallwood. She married Ray T. Smith in 1982. She was co-owner of Smitty’s Grocery in Jacks Creek for twelve years. Then she ran the family Real Estate Office until she became too ill to do so. She loved fishing, puzzle books, country music, flowers and her cats especially her favorite one Stubby.

Mrs. Smith is survived by her husband, Ray. T. Smith of Luray; two daughters, Sherry Hampton of Enville and Byschye Ely (Michael) of Glendora, MS; two sons, Phillip Smith of Luray and James Morris, Jr. (Kathy) of Webb, MS; four stepdaughters, one stepson, Anthony Smith (Terry) of Iuka, MS; fourteen grandchildren and twenty one great grandchildren; four sisters, Brenda Best (Louis) of Freeport, TX, Teresa Dixon (Danny) of Clarksdale, MS, Anita Mitchell (Will) of Bethel Springs, TN and Karen Tartt of Charleston, MS and a brother, Charles Smallwood, Jr. of Charleston, MS.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a brother, Joey Smallwood.

The family will receive friends at Shackelford Funeral Directors – Johnson Chapel 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM Wednesday, July 27, 2016.

There will be no funeral service.
