Deborah J. Price, age 71 of Winchester, passed away on Saturday, November 28, 2020 at her residence surrounded by her loving family. A native of Franklin County, she was born in Winchester on August 11, 1949. Before her illness, she worked as a dental hygienist and retired after fifty years of service to the citizens of Franklin County. She loved each and every one of her patients and co-workers through the course of her career. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, especially on their trips to Wal-Mart. She also loved her church family at Elk River Baptist Church, and cooking and sending handwritten cards to those she loved. She was known for her selfless acts of kindness and her smile. She was preceded in death by her father, Glen Burkhalter; and husband, John Henry Price. Deborah is survived by her children, Jeremy Price of Winchester, James (Jamie) Price of Winchester, Debbie (Alan) Cope of Cleveland, and Kay Jones of Cleveland; mother, Nora Mae Bailey Burkhalter of Winchester; sisters, Susie Burkhalter of Winchester, Peggy (Steve) Heath of Estill Springs, and Nancy Burkhalter of Arizona; grandchildren, Ellie Rose Price, Jack Riley Price, and Daisy Kate Price; and several nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 5-8 pm on Tuesday, December 1, 2020 at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will be held at 1:00 pm on Wednesday, December 2, 2020 in the Moore-Cortner Chapel with Bro. Carl Roberts officiating. Interment will follow at Winchester Memorial Park.
