Deborah “Debbie” Lynn Weaver Barnett of Meridianville, AL, went to be with her Lord and Savior at the age of 73 on October 29, 2024, after a long illness with multiple sclerosis. She was born in Tuscaloosa, AL, on August 10, 1951.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Orman and Monterey Weaver; and brother, Willie “Buddy” O. Weaver.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Jimmie, of 30 years; her sister, Alita Tucker; her step-son, Jeff Barnett; her grandson, Grahame; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In the end, she was greatly blessed by her special friends along with many caregivers. Debbie was a proud graduate of Brookwood High School and the University of Montevallo. She was a coach and teacher at Ed White Middle School in Huntsville, AL, for 25 years, where she mentored and loved her many students. She loved being at one school her entire career because this allowed her to teach children of former students and get to know the families in deeper and more meaningful ways. She was an avid lover of Alabama Crimson Tide football. Her enthusiasm spilled over to all those she knew. To her family, friends, and students, she was larger than life, with a heart as big as her personality. The family is profoundly grateful for the unwavering love and dedication shown by her beloved husband, Jimmie, who stood by her side throughout her journey. His devoted care brought her comfort and peace, and his steadfast presence was a true gift during her most challenging days. We will always cherish his selfless support and the deep bond they shared.
There will be a small family celebration of life at a later date. Berryhill Funeral Home assisted the family.
