Deborah (“Debbie”) Gist Phillips, 63, of Greenhill, AL, passed away Saturday, August 6, 2016, at ECM Hospital after a brief illness.
Debbie was born on August 6, 1953, and was a member of Shiloh Church of Christ in Greenhill. She loved gardening, quilting, and being Nana to her grandsons.
Survivors include her husband of 41 years, Jimmy Lee Phillips; daughters, Latasha Phillips Morgan (Kerry) of Corinth, MS, and LaKeisha Phillips Crocker (Matt) of Sylacauga, AL, grandsons, Tyson Lee Behel of Corinth, MS, and Landon Matthew Crocker of Sylacauga, AL. Also surviving are sisters, Lucille Gladney and Frances Cain (Harvey) of Greenhill, brother, Ozell Gist of Greenhill and twin brother Steve Gist of Florence, sister-in-law, Joyce Nugent of Rogersville, and many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Samuel Leonard and Oma Gladys Gist, sister Movaline Young, and granddaughter Abigail Joyceanne Crocker.
Visitation will be Monday, August 8, from 11:00-1:00pm at Greenhill Funeral Home. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm with Howell Bigham and Wesley Ayers officiating. Burial will be in Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Bobby Berryhill, Ernie Clemmons, Donnie Ferguson, Kevin Clemmons, Jason Hankins, Gary “Smokey” Nugent, and Larry Young.
The family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Lymon Mitchell, Dr. Felix Morris, and the CCU nurses at ECM Hospital.
