Deborah Ann Moore, age 66, passed away Friday night at Huntsville Hospital. She was the youngest of three children, born to Malcolm and Joyce Moore on March 20, 1957. She lived in Athens, Alabama and graduated from Athens High School in 1977.
Deborah worked at Kids World on the square in Athens for 37 years with her mother, Joyce Moore. She has lived at Athens Health and Rehabilitation for the last 10 years. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Athens for over 50 years. She loved her family, her church family, and friends. Because of some disabilities, she had some limitations in life, but showing love to others was not one of them. She loved Jesus and we pray she is now free from pain and whole again.
Deborah was preceded in death by her parents and sister-in-law, Betty Moore. She was a beloved sister, aunt, and great-aunt. She is survived by her sister, Connie (Jerry) Elmore, and brother, Rickey Moore; nieces, Jackie (Mitchell) Crumpton and Jenni Shackelford; nephews, Chris (Cassandra) Elmore, Jeremy (Ashley) Moore, Gil (Kelli) Moore, and twelve great-nieces and nephews, Malcolm, Preston, Briley, and Brayden Moore; Ian Massingill; Major, Madyson and Cooper Crumpton; Callie and Troy Elmore; and Logan and Libby Shackelford.
The family will receive friends between 12:30 and 1:50 Sunday, October 15. The funeral will be at 2:00 following the visitation at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home in Athens with burial following in Athens City Cemetery. Tee Jackson will officiate, and Jerry Elmore will deliver the eulogy.
Pallbearers will be Chris and Troy Elmore, Jeremy, Malcolm, Gil, Preston, and Brayden Moore, Ian Massingill, and Mitchell, Major, and Cooper Crumpton.
The family would like to give special thanks to all the nurses and employees at Athens Health and Rehabilitation for their kindness to Deborah during the last ten years as a resident.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to your favorite charity.
