Debbie Joyce Barnes Brooks
February 5, 1958 – March 1, 2025
Debbie Joyce Barnes Brooks, 67, of Hollywood, Alabama, passed away peacefully at home on March 1, 2025. She was a beloved wife, mother and “Nanny” to her family. She married her husband, Roger Brooks, on August 24, 1975. Debbie was a devoted mother to her son, Josh Brooks, and a loving nanny to her three granddaughters; Abbie, Ryleigh and Bryleigh Brooks. Debbie was a faithful member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. Her love for the Lord could be seen in every step of her life. Debbie worked many years at Shaw Industries and was a member of the graduating class of 1976 of Stevenson High School. She enjoyed many months of subbing for Jackson County Board of Education.
Debbie is survived by her husband, Roger Brooks, her son Josh (Kate) Brooks, her granddaughters, Abbie, Ryleigh, and Bryleigh Brooks, her sisters, Glenda Taylor and Linda Barnes, her mother in law Ruby Brooks, and several nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews, and cousins.
Debbie is preceded in death by her parents, John R. “Rudy” and Mary Elizabeth “Lit” Barnes, her sister Mary Crabtree, her brothers, David Johnny and Danny “Pig” Barnes, her brother in Law, Stanley Brooks, her nephew, Jeremy Brooks and Father in law, Lester Brooks.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025 at Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama. The officiators will be Rev. Ricky Talley and Rev. Charles Underwood. Burial will follow in Stevenson City Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, March 4, 2025 from 4-8 PM and 11 AM to 2 PM on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. Arrangements entrusted to Rudder Funeral Home in Stevenson, Alabama.
Pallbearers will be: Justin Taylor, Brett Johnson, Greg Pearson, Laden Underwood, Jamie Brooks and Bobby Mantooth.
