Debbie Burger Pruitt

Debbie Burger Pruitt passed away on February 23, 2022 from complications due to Covid. She was 63 years old. Debbie was born in Gadsden in 1958. She graduated from Glencoe High School in 1977 and from Texas A&M University in 1995. She worked her entire adult life in the medical field. She worked in dentistry, medical equipment sales, and as a pharmaceutical representative. She loved to go with her husband to the beach, travel and explore new things. She loved to help people and was always on the lookout to find the perfect gift for her family and the people she loved. Debbie was an outstanding cook and loved to find or create new recipes. She was a Christian and a member of Meadowbrook Baptist Church. She was loved and will be greatly missed.

She was preceded in death by her parents C.E. and Audra Burger, sister Cheryl Burger Pierce and brother-in-law Larry Pierce. She is survived by her husband and best friend Donny Pruitt, daughter Jenny Pruitt Simpson and husband Jeff Simpson. She is also survived by her great nephews and niece who she loved dearly Harrison Pierce, Anderson Pierce and Lynley Pierce.

Special thanks to her doctor and good friend Dr. Sandra Carpenter, Dr. Alberto Echeverri, the PA and Doctors at Etowah Pulmonary Associates, Dr. Bordas as well as the Gadsden Regional nurses and medical staff on the 7th floor and MICU. There will be no funeral or memorial service per Debbie’s request. If you wish, make a donation to your favorite charity in her name.
