Deanie Presnell BrittonDeanie Pressnell Britton, 90, of Athens, AL, passed away on August 14th, 2023, at Limestone Health & Rehab. She was born on July 21st, 1933, in Limestone County, Alabama, to Stacy and Vera (King) Pressnell.

She is survived by her children Steve Britton (Mona) of Rogersville, AL, Pam Christopher (Cliff) of Athens, AL, Lea Ann McBay (Blake) of Rogersville, AL, and Rodney Britton (Tammy) of Elkmont, AL; grandchildren Britt Christopher (Becky), Ryne Britton, Audri Ragasa (Nathan), Zac McBay, Hannah Crumbley (Chase), Trent Britton, Will Britton, Brody Gilliam, and Gentry Gilliam (Emma); great-grandchildren Emily, Brantley, Khloe, Katherine, Caroline, Bella, Merri Britton, and Anna Beth; and sisters Robbie Nell Robertson, Martha Pyron, and Kay Bates (Don) all of Athens, AL.

Mrs. Britton is preceded in death by her parents; husband Leamon Britton; daughter Merri Beth Gilliam; and brother Monroe Pressnell.

Funeral services will be Sunday August 20th, 2023, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, at 3:00 p.m., with Rodney Britton and Matt Taylor officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:50 p.m. at the funeral home. Pallbearers will be grandsons and grandsons-in-law. Burial will be at Roselawn Cemetery.

Mrs. Britton was a member of O’Neal Church of Christ. She loved flowers, cooking, and was a member of the Homemakers Club. She especially loved and kept her grandchildren. Most of all, she loved being a Christian and being an example to others when they were in need.
