Dean Meril Bullington was born June 14, 1935 in Caruthersville, Missouri the son of the late Jewel Brown and Cecil Juanita Clark Bullington. He was united in marriage to Dorothy Ellen Shelby on June 15, 1957.
Mr. Bullington was an electrician, working for Anheiser-Busch in St. Louis, Missouri for 19 years. Previously, he worked for Emerson Electric for 10 years, National Vendors for 9 years, and also worked on his uncle’s farm for 4 years, and for the Brown Shoe Company for 5 years. He had lived in Missouri for 60 years before coming to Savannah.
He was a member of the Savannah Church of Christ in Savannah, Tennessee. He was also a member of the Savannah Masonic Lodge, the Hardin County Red Cross-Savannah Chapter, a chairman of the Red Cross Blood Drive-Hardin County, and a RSVP-Board Member. Of these, he was particularly active with the Masonic Lodge and Red Cross.
Dean enjoyed fishing, playing baseball, coaching Little League, working on the farm after his retirement, and watching St. Louis Cardinals baseball.
Mr. Bullington departed this life on August 18, 2019 in Savannah, Tennessee at the age of 84 Years, 2 Months, 4 Days.
He is survived by his wife Dorothy Ellen Shelby Bullington of Savannah, Tennessee; three daughters, Debbie Austin and her husband Bill of St. Louis, Missouri, Deanna Bullington of Savannah, Tennessee,and Angie Hatch of Savannah, Tennessee; three sons, George Bullington and his wife Regena of Savannah, Tennessee, James Bullington of Savannah, Tennessee, Deron Bullington and his wife Kelli of St. Peters, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Misty and her husband Mike, Melissa and her husband Jay, Jenny and her husband Jeff, Joe and his wife Randa, Mindy and her husband Mike, Matt and his wife Whitney, Michael, Jessica, Braedin, Graesin, and Alex; and thirteen great grandchildren, Lauren, Michael, Hayden, Tessa, Taylor, Hunter, Landon, Trynton, Lynnden, Nathan, Hillary, Madelyn, and Emma.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Bullington was preceded in death by two sisters, Dorothy Pratt and Shirley Cox; and two grandchildren, Michael Bullington and Jessica Tacker Bullington.
