Dean Alan MacPherson, age 68, a resident of Columbia, passed away on Thursday, July 25, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center. Heritage Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
Born on April 16, 1956, in Kansas City, Missouri, Dean was the son of the late Richard MacPherson and the late Dorothy Meyer Kitzmiller.
Dean worked as a truck driver for Averitt Express. He found joy in the simple pleasures of life, particularly in building model rockets, which he enjoyed launching into trees. His creative mind and gentle soul brought light and laughter to those around him. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to anyone in need, and he never met a stranger. His love for his family and grandchildren was unconditional. Dean’s presence was a source of warmth and joy. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
Dean is survived by his spouse, Elizabeth MacPherson; sons, Alex (Cheryl) MacPherson and Gus (Dovie) MacPherson; brother, Scott “Polar Bear” MacPherson; sisters, Bobby MacPherson, Lora MacPherson, and Lianne Ruppel; grandchildren, Amelia MacPherson, Luke MacPherson, Eli MacPherson, Madison Sharpton, Sydni MacPherson, and Nathan MacPherson.
