David Ray Leyhew, age 72 of Lebanon TN, passed away on October 3, 2024. The family will be receiving friends at Sellars Funeral Home, Lebanon TN, on Sunday, October 6, 2024 from 4-8 p.m.
David Ray Leyhew was born in Lebanon TN to Dorothy Mae Porterfield Leyhew and Clifton Leyhew. David grew up in Norene TN. He enlisted in the United States Army and served 8 years active duty, with assignments in South Korea and Alaska. He served during the Vietnam conflict but was not stationed there. After leaving active duty, he joined the National Guard and was recalled to duty, stationed in Kuwait and then later in Iraq. He was a truck driver most of his life. David was an automobile enthusiast and a sports nut. He enjoyed any sporting event on television but had a special love for football.
Mr. Leyhew is survived by his siblings Charles (Karen) Leyhew and Janice Taylor, sister-in-law Francis Leyhew, and nieces and nephews Belinda Barneyy, Stacy Brockhause, Shane Leyhew, David Eric (Jennifer) Leyhew, Scott Christopher (Sarah) Leyhew, Zane Leyhew, and Hannah Leyhew. He is preceded in death by parents Dorothy and Clifton Leyhew, brother James Leyhew, and sister Pamela Leyhew.
