David Payne Sr, age 75, passed away on January 26, 2023, at his residence. David was born in Denton, TX to Roy Payne Sr and Zelma Fay Arnold Payne. Mr. Payne was an avid music lover. Over the years he was a member of several bands, and he was honored to open for Lee Greenwood and accompanied Ronnie Milsap as well.
He is survived by his mother; his children, David L Payne Jr. (Debra), Cherie Y. Anderson (John), Elizabeth F McKinney (Ryder), and Amber Payne; grandchildren, Christopher, Heather, Matthew (Stacey), Cody, Brittany (Ray), Brianna, Braeden (Amria), Logan, and McKayela; and brother, Ricky Payne. He is preceded by his father and his brother, Roy E. Payne, Jr.
