David Myron Herring, age 69, of Phil Campbell, Alabama passed away on Friday, March 15, 2024 at Haleyville Health and Rehab Center in Haleyville, Alabama.

David Myron Herring was a fifth generation carpenter.  He built homes with his father and brother and later joined the Carpenters Local 1209.  Myron graduated with the 1973 class at Phil Campbell High School.  He had a servants heart and was always helping others by taking them food, caring for their pets and driving them to their doctor appointments.  Myron enjoyed canoeing, boating, tinkering with snapper lawn mowers, tractors and vehicles.  He liked to take leisure rides in his Jeep. Myron gave his life to Jesus and was baptized at Chigger Hill Baptist Church last summer.  He enjoyed sitting in his Buick and listening to gospel music on WBTG.

He is survived by his brother-in-law, Sonny Frix; nephews, Michael Herring II (Delia), Lee Frix (Elaine), Blake Herring; neice, Mary Jackson (Josh); great nephew, Eli Jackson, great nieces, Olivia Starnes, Jolie Herring, Marlee Frix.

Myron was preceded in death by his parents, James and Nell Herring; sister, Melinda Frix; brother, Michael Herring.

A memorial service will be on Saturday, March 23, 2024 at 11:00 am at Akins Funeral Home Chapel.

In lieu of flowers donate to Chigger Hill Baptist Church Van Fund.

Akins Funeral Home is assisting the family.
