David Lloyd ClayDavid Lloyd Clay, 65, of Anniston, Alabama, passed away on October 22, 2023, at Regional Medical Center, Anniston. He was born on February 3, 1958, the youngest of four children to Harvey and Annie Bell Clay in White Plains.

David will be most remembered for his warm heart, kind giving soul and his love for his family and Alabama Football. He would always greet you with a big smile, a hardy laugh and a listening ear.
Being much younger than his other siblings, David grew up as a brother figure with many of his Nieces and Nephews. He took his role of “uncle” seriously. He would be considered a hands-on, first-rate uncle. He was always there for each of them, be it birthday parties to watching them play ball to being a partner in crime.

He was a beloved baby brother being survived by one sister, Mildred Ann “Midge” Clay Murphy; and two brothers, Arthur Boyd “Bub” Clay (Ruby) and Floyd Marlin “Whitey” Clay (Betty). David leaves behind five nieces, Vicky Clay Rich, Sandy Clay Wells, Gina Clay, Valeri Clay Miller and Shelley Murphy Pritchett, three nephews, Greg Clay, Nicky Clay, and Geoffrey Murphy; and a host of great nieces, great nephews, and great-great nieces and nephews.

David was preceded in death by his father, Harvey Andrew Clay, his mother, Annie Bell Austin Clay, and his brother-in-law, Byron Allen Murphy.

David attended White Plains High School, where he made forever friends and lasting memories.

A graveside service will be held at 2pm on Sunday, October 29th at White Plains Cemetery. Reverend Eric Snider will lead the gathering in celebrating David’s life and bidding him farewell.

During this difficult time, please keep David’s family and friends in your thoughts and prayers.
