Memorial service for David Lewis Harris, age 67, of Hartselle, will be Saturday, September 11, 2021, 2:00 p.m. at West Hartselle Baptist Church. The family will receive friends for one hour prior to service at the church. Shelton Funeral Home is assisting with arrangements.
Mr. Harris, who died Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at Decatur Morgan Hospital, Parkway Campus, was born October 2, 1953, in Atlanta, GA, to Ed Roy Harris, Sr. and Dorothy Eufard Harris. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Ed Roy “Buddy” Harris, Jr. Mr. Harris was known as PawPaw-Mason. He worked with special needs children in the Hartselle and Decatur City School Systems, and was a professional clown.
He is survived by his wife, Doris Turrentine Harris of Hartselle; son, Michael Harris of Danville; daughter, Amanda “Joy” Wilson (Gary) of Marianna, FL; sister, Gayle Pfister (Charlie) of Hartselle; seven grandchildren, Seth Holmes, Mason Holmes, Drue Harris, Daygan Harris, Dexton Harris, Zac Wilson, and Kenzie Wilson; and one great-grandson, Dominik Buckner.
