David Lee Stone ( Dave to many) was born in rural Grayson County Kentucky on January 3, 1939 to Lessie P. and Lorene Wilson Stone. He grew up on land that belonged to his great grandfather and attended Stone’s View Methodist Church which was founded by his great grandfather. His first eight years of schooling were in a one room school named Stone’s Chapel. After earning degrees from the University of Kentucky, he worked as a teacher and librarian at Washington Senior High School in Washington C.H., Ohio. He treasured memories of working with wonderful students and faculty members there. In 1982 David purchased The Booklegger Bookstore in Huntsville. There he spent 19 years building the business and enjoying his love of books and the association with those who valued books. After retirement David devoted time to his hobby of reed organs. David is survived by two sisters, Lois Summers of Florida, and Doris Madden of Huntsville. He is survived by a brother Thurman Stone of Kentucky. His in-laws Larry Summers, Earl Madden, and Judy Stone have truly been family. His nine nieces and nephews have been the source of great pride and joy. David’s family is planning a memorial service at a later date. Please sign the online guest book at www.hamptoncovefuneralhome.com
