David Lee McVay, 70, of Rogersville, formerly of Muscle Shoals, passed away surrounded by his family on Thursday, January 25, 2024. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, January 30, 2024, at 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home in Tuscumbia with Dr. Bill Meckes officiating. Burial will follow in Cherokee Memorial Park.
David was a native and lifelong resident of the Shoals. He was a retired firefighter with the Muscle Shoals Fire Department and was a longtime business owner of Rainbow Pools and Vintage South Marketplace. He was of the Baptist faith and was member of the Free & Accepted Masons Washington Lodge #36. David was preceded in death by his father, William McVay.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, B.J. McVay; sons, Justin McVay, Jeremy McVay, and Jared McVay; mother, Marolyn McVay; sister, Brenda James and husband, William; grandchildren, Ezra McVay, Bristol McVay, Hattie McVay, and Willow McVay; nephew, Matthew James and wife, Jo-Lynn; and niece, Lori James.
Pallbearers are William James, Matthew James, Alan McVay, Steve Burnett, Don Miller, and D.J. Sparks.
Honorary pallbearers are J.D. Choat, Travis Wammack, Robbie Martin, and Jimmy Wayne Mitchell.
