David Lee Lentz, age 62, of Columbia, Tennessee, passed away on Saturday, November 2, 2024, at Maury Regional Medical Center.
A celebration of David’s life will be held on Friday, November 8, 2024, at 11:00 a.m. at Heritage Funeral Home. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the service hour. Heritage Funeral Home is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
David was born on August 14, 1962, in Columbia, Tennessee, to the late Maryland Doris Lentz and Linda Rogers Lentz Bassham. A graduate of Central High School, he attended Highland Church of Christ and was known for his passion for music, a love he shared with his father, who played the drums. David enjoyed watching cooking shows, collecting hats and watches, and spending time outdoors, especially observing bears and bats.
He is survived by his mother, Linda Rogers Lentz Bassham; his children, Matthew Peyton (Hali) Lentz of Columbia, Jeremy (Heather) Dyer of Giles County, Madison Lentz of Columbia, and Tucker Knight of Giles County; sisters, Hope and Ronnie; brother-in-law, Jeff Clardy of Culleoka; grandchildren, Ethan, Jason, Damian, and Sophia Lentz; mother-in-law, Sue Clardy; nieces and nephews, Jessie, Josh, Kira, Shelby, Gavin, and Tensley; and lifelong friends, David and Libby Heflen and Wolfgang Wyk, and all his work friends from Lowe’s and General Motors.
