David Laurin RaspilairDavid Laurin Raspilair, of Somerville, Alabama, passed away on June 12, 2022, in Birmingham, Alabama.  David was born March 30, 1961, in Huntsville, Alabama, to Howard Marcel Raspilair and Emily Ann “Bickie” Bickerstaff Raspilair.  He was educated in Huntsville public school system and graduated from Grissom High School in 1980.  From 2019 – 2021, he resided in Guntersville, Alabama, where he was the caregiver for his precious mother, “Bickie”.  He was a devoted family man, talented carpenter, and a well respected commercial general contractor.  He is survived by his mother, sons, Joseph Howard Raspilair (Lacie) of Lacey’s Springs, Alabama, and Lester Raymond Bryant (Chasity), of Morehead, Kentucky, and one daughter, Leslie Melissa Slone Graves (Earl) of Union Grove, Alabama.  David had six wonderful grandchildren, Landon Slone (Auna), Sabrina Crowley (Charlie), Kristy  Whitehead (Eric) , Nicholas Bryant (Elizabeth), Emalee Bryant, and Lyric Smith. His Great-Grandchildren are Annaleigh Slone, Andrea Slone, Alexander Slone, Liam Slone, Preston Slone, Elizybeth Crowley, Dixie Whitehead, Phoenix Whitehead, and Jaxon Whitehead.  David is preceded in death by his loving wife, Launa Tackett Bryant Raspilair, his father, Howard Marcel Raspilair, his brothers, Howard Marcel Raspilair, Jr., and Joseph “Lucky” Raspilair II.  On a later date, a celebration of David’s life will be hosted by Episcopal Church – The Epiphany, 1101 Sunset Drive, Guntersville, Alabama 35976.
