david-kiser-1473957428David Lamar Kiser, 88, of Muscle Shoals passed away Tuesday September 14, 2016 at Helen Keller Hospital after a lengthy illness.
He was preceded in death by his wife Mary Chambers Kiser, and his parents, David Leonard and Lillian Thomas Kiser.
He is survived by his son, James Larry Kiser (Marie); daughters Martha Kiser Wilson (Tommy), Jeanie Kiser Hooper (Mike), and Paula Kiser Morgan (Jim); sister Sue Kiser Chaney (Doris), and brother-in-law Harold Chambers (Barbara); and a very special friend and his “sweetheart” Jean Ulman; grandchildren Tommy Wilson III (Monica), Jason Kiser, Jamie Drake (John), Jennifer Kiser, Jeri Ann McBride (Allen), Jessica Jones (Doug), Melissa Bullington (Alan), and David Morgan (Brandi), and thirteen great-grandchildren.
He was a member of the Woodward Avenue Baptist Church where he had served as a Deacon, and he and his wife Mary served in the homebound tape ministry.
He was a pipefitter. He was instrumental in establishing a plumbing code in the city of Muscle Shoals in 1950. He also owned and operated Highland Park Plumbing in the 1960’s.
He was a veteran, a member of Local 760 for over 60 years.
He loved cars, working on cars, yard sales, antiques and items from the past.
Visitation will be Saturday, September 17, 2016 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at Morrison Funeral Home, Tuscumbia. The funeral service will follow at 12:00pm in the funeral home chapel with Brother Barrett Long officiating. Burial will be in Glenwood Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Wilson III, Jason Kiser, David Morgan, Allen McBride, Brennen McBride, and Doug Jones.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the Reagan Faith Joy Fund, designated to help families of children with Medical needs by providing funds for travel, food, and hotel accommodations during hospital stays; c/o 104 Marshall Ct.
