David George Hollis, Jr was born September 24th, 1970. He was just shy of celebrating his 55th birthday. He passed on Tuesday, June 11th at his home.
David grew up in Rossville, TN with his beloved brother Derek Hollis. Derek loves his “brudder” more than anything in the world. He would always call to ask, “what you are doing?” and David would tell him all about it. David loved looking after his little brother and he will miss him more than words could describe.
David was always a great caregiver. His greatest joy in life was his girls. And let me tell you, he has maintained dad of the year for over 26 years. He stood by his girls protecting them, supporting them, and cheering them on no matter what path they decided to take. He will always be incredibly proud of them and there is no doubt he will continue guiding them, and his grandbabies, throughout their life.
On October 26th, 2019, David married the love of his life, right over there on PawDaddy’s front porch. There is no denying it, Tammy is his true soulmate; the one that made his life complete. Their favorite thing to do was sit on the back porch talking and enjoying all David built for their life.
For 20 years David owned Structures Unlimited and created countless masterpieces for his clients and those he loved. After meeting Tammy, they decided to open Rustic Lantern Properties to bring “nostalgia back to life” for older homes. With David’s exquisite craftmanship, and Tammy’s unique rustic style, they produced unforgettable homes that creates tranquility to last a lifetime.
David always loved to build things and spread his love through his crafts. “If his family dreamed it, he could build it”, but if he wasn’t working, I am sure you would catch him watching football (Roll Tide), hunting, fishing, or cooking for his family and friends. He will be missed tremendously, as no-one will be able to replace his big bear hugs and contagious laugh.
David is survived by his wife, Tammy Hollis. His brother, Derek Hollis. His children, Sarah Hollis (Wyatt), Savannah Hollis, Charles Otte, and Missy Antoine (John). His grandchildren: Bryer, Lillie, Trey, Reiley, Madison, and Declan. His uncle Phillip (Alice) and Aunt Susan (Greg). And friends that have been family his whole life. A life taken way too soon and causes immeasurable impact for all.
A Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM- 11:00 AM on Friday June 14, 2024, with a celebration of life graveside service to follow at 11:00 AM at Hollis Haven.
Glenfield Funeral Home is honored to be entrusted with the care and arrangements of Mr. Hollis.
