David Galloway of Huntsville, AL, passed away peacefully at 2:55 a.m. December 14, 2022, at the age of 68.
David was born November 7, 1954, to Dickey and Jo Anne Galloway in Denver, Colorado. The son of a career Air Force officer, David moved frequently through his youth living in Biloxi, MS, Athens, Greece, Elizabethtown, KY, Grand Forks, ND, Derby, KS, and Wichita, KS.
He spent his entire professional career (44 years) with The Boeing Company as a software engineer working on various projects, but most extensively on the International Space Station.
David married Ruth Mamary on June 16, 1982, in Derby and shortly after moved to Madison, AL, to continue his career with Boeing. He fathered three children whom he loved deeply throughout his life. He divorced in 2002 and remarried to Beth Rodehorst in 2016 in Huntsville.
He enjoyed cooking, golf, and fishing and was a respected member of his local community.
David is survived by his wife, Beth Rodehorst, three children, Michael Galloway, Jason Galloway, and Lisa Ingram, two grandchildren, Colton Ingram and Peyton Ingram, and two brothers, Perry Galloway and Tim Galloway. David is predeceased by his parents.
A funeral will be held at Spry Funeral Home on Sunday, December 18, 2022, with a viewing at 2 p.m. followed by a 3 p.m. service.
