David F. deWolfe, 85, of Florence, AL unexpectedly passed away on December 20, 2023. David was born in New York in 1938, graduated from Miami Edison High School, graduated from Georgia Tech with a degree in electrical engineering and earned his MBA from the University of Dayton.
In 1971 he married the love of his life, Margaret Shay. A resident of Florence since 1978, he actively participated in many community organizations such as Rotary, Shoals Area Investment League, the Institute of Learning and Retirement and was a parishioner of St. Michaels Catholic Church. Generous with time and money, Dave lent his talents as treasurer and financial advisor to many clubs.
Dave loved traveling the globe with Margaret, visiting nearly 50 countries together. A sports fanatic, he enjoyed watching sports with Margaret, driving all over the country to attend Olympics and Final Four basketball games.
Preceded in death by parents, Kenneth deWolfe and Margaret Varelli deWolfe, sister, Andrea deWolfe Coe.
Survived by wife, Margaret, brother Douglas deWolfe (Carol,) children Susan deWolfe Martin, Michael deWolfe (Melissa,) Allison deWolfe D’Aprile (Gianni,) Kim deWolfe, Tory deWolfe, and Shawn deWolfe. Grandchildren, Katy Iza, Jay Martin, Josh Martin, Kaleigh Lesh, Clay Pugh, Natalie deWolfe, Brock Moore, Isabella D’Aprile, Emmy D’Aprile, Lucy D’Aprile, Julia D’Aprile and six great grand children.
