David Eugene Barnett Sr, age 77 of Decherd, passed away on Monday, July 8, 2024, at Southern Tennessee Regional Health Systems. A native of Franklin County, he was born on May 27, 1947, to the late John Patrick “JP” and Aline (Douglas) Barnett. Before his retirement, he was a paint technician at Del-Met. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and hunting. He had a wonderful sense of humor and contagious laugh and was always making jokes. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Peggy Erdman; and son, Dustin Barnett. David is survived by his loving children, David (Rachel) Barnett Jr, and John (Amy) Barnett; grandchildren, Ty Bogman, Shelby Barnett, Ellie Barnett, Makayla Hall, and Kaley Barnett; and nephew, Ricky Erdman. Visitation will be from 11am-2pm on Thursday, July 11, 2024, at Moore-Cortner Funeral Home. Funeral Services will follow at 2:00 pm in the Chapel of Moore-Cortner Funeral Home with Bro.
