David Elroy Dykes – Obituary

David Elroy Dykes, 54, died Saturday, November 10, 2018 in Colbert County, AL.  He was born in Birmingham to Marvin and Lovie Sartin Dykes.  He was a welder for over 30 years and was a member of Southwest Community Church in Tuscumbia, AL.

Funeral services will be Tuesday, November 13, 2 p.m. at Southwest Community Church in Tuscumbia, AL with Bro. Greg McNatt officiating.  Burial will be in Shoals Memorial Gardens in Tuscumbia, AL.  Deaton Funeral Home, Red Bay, AL will be in charge of arrangements.

He is survived by his wife- Angela Dykes of Tuscumbia; his mother-Lovie Dykes of Red Bay; two brothers-Marvin Dykes (Kathy) of Roy, WA and Terry Dykes (Dena) of Pontotoc; three sisters-Sandra Vick (Ricky) of Vina, Brenda Snook (Rusty) of Hamilton and Cinda McCarley (Joey) of Hodges; daughter-Jessica Williams (John Glidden) of Tuscumbia; grandchildren-Dixie and Lucas of Tuscumbia.

He was preceded in death by two brothers-Kenneth and Carlton Dykes.

Pallbearers will be Michael Timms, Stephen Vick, Dustin Timms, Keith Franks, John Glidden and Blair Jones.

Visitation will begin Monday, November 12 at 11 a.m. and will continue until service time Tuesday at Southwest Community Church.
