David Douglas Hallman, age 75, of Phil Campbell, passed away on Sunday, March 24, 2024, after an extended illness.
Doug loved fishing, working on his old truck, and loved animals, especially dogs. He loved God first and was often found studying the Bible. He was known as “Grampy” and loved spending time watching TV and playing games with the kids. He was often found sitting in his chair, watching the birds and the squirrels play outside.
Matthew 11:28-30 KJV, “Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.”
He was preceded in death by his parents, William Emanuel & Clois (Cofield) Hallman, and sister, Susie Artie Vee Baker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his daughter, Dana Malone (Tracy); grandchildren, Tabitha Stidham (Kyle), Brock Malone (Lauryn); daughter of the heart, Krystal Gaba; great-grandchildren, Dawson Malone, Emerson Malone; brother, Tommy Hallman (Patty); nephews, Duran Baker, Tom Baker, Eric Hallman; family of the heart, sister, Sharon Bonds (Huggy), children, Sapphire, Christian, Savannah, Nicole, Harlee, Branstin; grand-babies, Aubriella, Antonio; brother, Darrel Baker and daughter Gracie; and other nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
The visitation will be 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 noon, Wednesday, March 27, 2024, at Spry Memorial Chapel. The service will be in the chapel at 12:00 noon with Pastor Kevin Palmer speaking at the service. The burial will be at Mars Hill Cemetery in Phil Campbell.
The pallbearers will be Duran Baker, Darrel Baker, Marcos Trujillo, Jacob Hill, Trish Williams, Sharon Bonds, and Larry Chaney. The honorary pallbearer will be Christian Bonds.
The family would like to extend a heartfelt thanks to the nurses and staff of Preferred Hospice, and to everyone who has loved and prayed for the family during the last few years.
