Darrell Pitts, 85, passed away Wednesday, November 20, 2024, at Countrywood Manor in Mantachie. He was born August 11, 1939 to the late Horace Pitts and the late Lera Mae Brown Pitts in Tremont. He was a member of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church. He and his brother Hoyet, started Pitts Cabinet Shop where he worked until he retired after 30+ years. Darrell was a veteran of the National Guard and enjoyed bass fishing, hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family.
Funeral services will be at 1:00 pm on Saturday November 23, 2024, at Senter Funeral Home with Bro. Lloyd Minor, and Tony Green officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Vernon Baptist Church Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:00 am to 1:00 pm on Saturday November 23, at Senter Funeral Home.
Senter Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
He is survived by his sons, Michael “Scooter” (Dallas) Pitts of Fulton, and Brian (Carla) Pitts of Mooreville; grandchildren, Devin Pitts, Olivia (Nick) Raines, Aimee, James, Lierin, and Reid; great-grandchildren, Cameron, Aly, Hadley, Easton, Jade, Pearce, Collins, Flyn, Ella, and Van; brothers, Hoyet (Helen) Pitts of Tupelo, Jerry (Doris) Pitts of Mantachie, and Halbert “Doc” (Donna) Pitts of Tremont, sister, Vicki (Jeff) McCaleb of Pontotoc, and sister in law, Phylis Pitts of Fulton.
He was preceded un death by his wife, Linda Faye Pitts, parents, Horace and Lera Mae Pitts, and brother, Wayne Pitts.
Pallbearers will be Johnny Jarrell, George Armstrong, Eddie Kilgore, J.D. Hale, Jerry Dickens, and Eric Velazquez.
