Darrell Gene Williamson
November 29, 1939 – May 29, 2014
Mr. Williamson went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 29, 2014. He was born to Reubin Murrell Williamson and Audrey Dowdy Williamson on November 29, 1939, in Wilson, Okla. Mr. Williamson retired in 1998 from Boeing after 35 years of service. Mr. Williamson served in the U.S. Navy on the Bon Homme Richard Attack Aircraft Carrier as a Third class radioman 1956-1960.
Mr. Williamson is survived by his caring and loving wife of 52 years, Pauletta Jean Williamson; daughter, Keli Williamson Sparks and husband John of Athens; son, Jason Williamson of Decatur; grandson, Zane Sparks and granddaughter, Kade Sparks of Athens; brother, Danny Williamson and wife Betty of Sour Lake, Texas and many nieces and nephews.
Mr. Williamson was preceded in death by his son, Darrell Gene Williamson II; his parents, Reubin and Audrey Williamson of Wichita, Kan.; sisters, Carolyn Brunson of Loudon, Tenn. and Sharon Kay Ohl of Wann, Okla.
A private graveside service will held on Monday, June 2, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home with Pastor Dusty McLemore of Lindsay Lane Baptist Church officiating.
In lieu of flowers, the family would be blessed if donations were made to the Wounded Warrior Project.
