Darold Lynn Furrer, 70, of Ozark, AL, passed away after bravely battling cancer on Saturday, August 31st
at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Visitation will be held at Carr Funeral Home in Guntersville from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Tuesday,
September 3rd. Viewing will be held from 1:00 PM – 2:00 PM on Wednesday, September 4th followed by
the funeral at 2:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church #2 in Guntersville.
Darold, born in Wisconsin, moved to Ozark, AL in 1994 to pursue a career in the grocery business. It was
there that he raised his family before retiring in 2016. Upon retiring, he moved with his wife, Jeanette,
to Albertville where he enjoyed farming sheep and spending time with his many grandkids. Darold was
known for his work ethic, desire to serve others and genuine love for people. His legacy will be
remembered by the many individuals, particularly his family, who crossed his path.
He is survived by his loving wife of 16 years, Jeanette Kelley Furrer; daughter, Summer (Justin) Worden
of Cleveland, TN; son, Adam (Annie) Furrer of Albertville; stepdaughter, Meg (Enoch) Cruz of
Guntersville; stepson, Will (Ariel) Brumbeloe, of Albertville; daughters, Melissa DiCicco and Jessica
Hasser of Wisconsin; brothers Duane Furrer, David (Barbara) Furrer, Dean (Deanna) Furrer; sisters
Janice (Ron) Smith and Jean Harter; sister-in-law Pat Furrer and a host of grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Eleanor Furrer; brothers Delbert Furrer and Don
Furrer; brother-in-law Don Harter; sisters-in-law Louise Furrer and Nellie Furrer; and granddaughter,
Kamryn Brumbeloe.
