Darline Barnett Thigpen, 63, of Florence, chose her independence on July 4th, 2023. She was a strong advocate for children working with Community Action Partnership of North Alabama for over 25 years. As a strong survivor, she beat breast cancer in 2019. Never giving up she continued fighting and advocating for those around her.
Visitation will be Sunday, July 9th, 2023 from 1-2 p.m. at Greenview Funeral Home. A memorial service will begin at 2 p.m. in the funeral home chapel.
Mrs. Thigpen was preceded in death by her father, Hebert Barnett.
She is survived by her husband, Thomas Edward Thigpen; mother, Betty Barnett of Huntsville, AL; daughters, Amanda Melissa Thigpen McFall, and Sarah Nicole Peeden (Edward); and grandchildren, Kimberly Estes, and Katie Beth Peeden.
