Dao Dinh Dao, 85, died Friday, September 15, 2023 at his residence in Columbia.
A funeral mass will be conducted Friday, September 22, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Daniel Reehil officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are assisting the family with the arrangements.
He was born on May 2, 1938 in Hanoi, North Vietnam to the late Huong Dinh Dao and the late Thin Thi Luong. Dao served as a Lieutenant Colonel in the South Vietnam Army. After migrating to the United States, he worked for General Motors for forty seven years. He was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church.
Survivors include his children; Thuy Dao Le of California, Anh Duy Dao “Andy” of California, and Anh Trang Dao “Theresa” of Australia; grandchildren, Queyen Hartman of California, Nhu Brigitte Le of California, and Bella Truong of Australia; a brother, Vuong Dao of Mississippi; and a special friend, Lien Nguyen of Nashville.
