Danny Wayne Hamblin, 73, passed away Monday, March 11, 2024, at Baptist Memorial Hospital North Mississippi-Oxford, MS. Danny was a passionate hunter, fisherman, and worker. After 20 plus years, he retired from Tecumseh. Following his retirement, he enjoyed working on tractors, spending Sunday’s cooking for his family, spending time with friends, and the occasional trip to Tunica. In the summer of 1983, he met his wife, Faye, of 40 years. Together they enjoyed going to the mountains, weekends shopping, fishing, and watching western movies.
Danny is survived by his wife, Faye Hamblin; his children, Carla Jones of Blue Springs, MS, Kevin Hamblin of Blue Springs, MS, Kimberly Guthrie (Red) of Blue Springs, MS, and Kenny Hamblin of Alabama; and a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Melvin and Mildred Evelyn Cobb Hamblin; his sister, Glenda Malone; his brothers, Terry and Ronnie; his daughter, Donna Jordan; and his four grandchildren, Amanda, T.J., Michael, and Micah.
Services will be Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 1PM with Bro. Tony Corrie officiating at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc. Visitation will be Wednesday, March 13th 5-8PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc and Thursday, March 14th 12PM until service time. Burial will follow in Liberty Baptist Church Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Red Guthrie, Walker Jones, Andrew Hamblin, Trent Hamblin, Luke Hamblin, and Keith Herring. Honorary Pallbearers will be Kent Montgomery, Larry Sullivan, Randy Allen, and Gary Smith.
