Danny Thrasher, 67, of Tuscumbia, passed away Saturday, March 4, 2017. A visitation will be held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 from 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. at Colbert Memorial Chapel with funeral to follow at 1 p.m. Burial will be in Colbert Memorial Gardens. Brother Herschel Quinn and Brother A.G. Stepp will be officiating.
He was preceded in death by his parents, O.B. and Aliene Thrasher.
Survivors include his wife of 50 wonderful years, Peggy Thrasher; son, Danny Wayne Thrasher, of Tuscumbia; daughter, Melissa Kaye Thrasher Motes (Laland Jon), of Georgia; sisters, Jean Rickard (Philip), Joyce Vess (Benny), Rita Wellington (O’Neal), all of Tuscumbia; seven grandchildren; eight great – grandchildren; a host of loving nieces and nephews; and other family members.
Pallbearers will be Pete Ellen, Adam Beaver, Johnny Thrasher, Westley Motes, Leroy Miller, and Claude Wayne Thrasher. Honorary pallbearer Tom Richardson.
Danny was a member of Little Bear Creek Missionary Baptist Church. He was a grounds keeper for Tennessee Valley Country Club for 32 plus years of loyal service.
Colbert Memorial Chapel is assisting the family.
