Danny Lee Rutledge, age 62 of Union Grove Alabama, (Brocks Chapel Community) died Wednesday – May 25, 2016 at his residence.
Mr. Rutledge was born on May 1, 1954 in Cleveland Ohio, the son of Curtis Rutledge Jr & Willa Dean Holmes Rutledge. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was a former member of the National Guard. He worked in maintenance with Union Grove Utilities and was Fire Chief of the Union Grove Fire Department.
Mr. Rutledge was a member of Union Chapel United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Mary Annette Burroughs Rutledge; two sons: Tolbert Patterson (Pat) Rutledge (Lindsay), Jimmy Rutledge (Christine); a daughter: Amy Nicole Rutledge; Mother: Willa Dean Weaver (Don); six grandchildren; two sisters; Becky Maynor (Dennis) and Teresa White. He was preceded in death by his father: Curtis Rutledge Jr. and a brother: David Davenport.
Funeral service will be 3:00 p.m. – Saturday May 28, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel with Chris Herbert and Jeff Warren officiating. Burial will be in Brocks Chapel Cemetery, Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel, directing.
Pallbearers will be Raymond Bodine, Jeff Warren, Chris Clements, Roger Ditto, David Hornsby and Matthew Farley.
Visitation will be 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. – Friday – May 27, 2016 at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel to assist with the funeral expense.
