Danny "Buffalo" Junior Vernon Danny Junior Vernon, affectionately known as ‘Buffalo’, passed away at the age of 85 on Sunday, September 29, 2024, at NMMC-Pontotoc, MS. My father was my daddy. He was hard and stubborn that was his way.
But he was always there when we needed him.
He was known as (Buffalo) throughout his working life at Futorian Furniture.
But after retirement he turned into (Pop) as a loving Dad, Grand dad and great granddad and even to some folks around town.
If he wasn’t watching his Western shows, he was growing tomatoes or preparing to grow tomatoes.
He was such an independent man even at 85.
He was still chopping wood for the winter.
Only just this last two weeks did he slow down.
Not knowing that his time was near.
The pain overcame him, and he just went home to our Lord and savior (and my son).
I love you, Daddy.
I will miss you.

He is survived by his son, Randy Vernon, his daughter, Nancy Rush, his brothers, Phillip and Dennis Vernon, his sister, Ellen Mask, and his great-granddaughters, Annlee, Lyndsey, and Haleigh. He was preceded in death by his parents, Vardie and Vedis Bunn Vernon, his brothers, James, Donnie, and Stevie, his sisters, Barbara Clack, Edna Yankee, and Pat Stokes, and his grandson, David Vernon.

A Memorial Service will be held on Sunday, October 13, 2024, at 2PM at Tutor Memorial Funeral Home in Pontotoc with Bro. Jody Riddle officiating. Visitation will begin at 12PM and continue to service time.
