Danny Joe Reid, 77, passed away Saturday, December 16, 2023 at the Iuka Hospital. He was born in Dennis, MS to E.C. and Mary Miller Reid. He worked as a truck driver and was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church where he served as a deacon for many years.
Funeral services will be Wednesday, December 20, 11 a.m. at Deaton Funeral Home Chapel, Belmont, MS with Bro. Bobby Casteel and Bro. John Bray officiating. Burial will be in Joel Cemetery. Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS will be in charge of arrangements.
He is survived by his wife, Joycie Reid; two daughters, Melissa Wooten (Tim) and Amelia Dawson (Tracy); three grandsons, Zachary Wooten (Anna Brooke), Landon Dawson (Ashleigh) and Levi Dawson and one sister, Patsy Wilson.
He was preceded in death by his parents; three brothers, Larry Watts, Sam Reid and David Reid and three sisters, Mary Reid South, Peggy Sue Hill and Mary Lynn Reid.
Pallbearers will be Tim Wooten, Tracy Dawson, Zachary Wooten, Landon Dawson, Levi Dawson, Wayne Lambert and Jeremy Dawson.
Visitation will be Tuesday, December 19, 5-8 p.m. at Deaton Funeral Home, Belmont, MS.
