Danny Joe Blankenship age 46 of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, February 13, 2013 at UAB in Birmingham. Mr. Blankenship was born August 8, 1966 in Limestone County to Billy Joe Blankenship and Mary Jane Haggermaker Blankenship.
Services for Mr. Blankenship are Sunday, February 17, 2013 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home at 2:00 p.m. Visitation will be Saturday, February 16, 2013 from 6:00 until 9:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Reunion Cemetery with Bro. Wayne Kent and Bro. Marshall Norman officiating.
He is survived by his wife, Melissa Blankenship; daughters, Kayla Dempsey and husband Jason, Tabitha Blankenship Taylor and husband Kyle and Danielle Blankenship; brother, Gilbert Blankenship and wife Robin; sisters, Donna Dempsey and husband Donnie, Debbie Montgomery and husband Tim and DeWanda Blankenship; parents, Billy Joe “Jody” and Mary Jane Blankenship.
He is preceded in death by Walter and Lura Blankenship and Henry and Alma Haggermaker.
Pallbearers are Roy Blankenship, Doug Sides, David Sides, David Moss, J.J. Dempsey, Matt Dempsey, Ronnie Dempsey and Freddie Dempsey.
