Danny J. Welborn, 85, of Athens, passed away on Wednesday, June 19th, 2024, at Huntsville Hospital. Mr. Welborn was born on January 9th, 1939, in Indiana, to Charles B. Welborn and Eva Marie Blake Welborn.
Mr. Welborn is survived by his wife Barbara Welborn; children Laura Smith (Tony), Lisa Muller (Michael), and Bryan Welborn (Terri); grandchildren Mandi Cook (Jeremy), Jennifer Pearson (Neil), Cody Presley (Kara), and Jessica Burch; and great-grandchildren Libbie Cook and Lawson Cook.
He is preceded in death by his parents; and brother Kent Welborn.
Funeral services for Mr. Welborn will be Tuesday, June 25th, 2024, at 2:00pm, at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home, with Jack McDaniel officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 1:00-2:00pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at Huntsville Memory Gardens.
Mr. Welborn loved artwork and loved painting. He enjoyed studying the Bible. He retired from the Air Force after twenty years at the rank of Major.
