Graveside Service for Danny Farris Allen, 59, of Decatur will be Friday, September 1, 2023, at 11:00am at Roselawn Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday, August 31, 2023, from 6-8pm at Shelton Funeral Home.
Danny was born February 8, 1964 in Decatur, Alabama to Robert Lee and Elhura Bendall Allen. He died Monday, August 28, 2023 at his residence.
Danny was an avid fisherman. He loved bass fishing as well as fly fishing and deep-sea fishing. He took trips to Lake Okeechobee, Lake Martin and the Gulf with his favorite fishing partners David Peek and his son David Jr. He was just as happy to fish a pond or a special spot he frequented on the river bank.
Danny had suffered with kidney disease from birth and eventually had to start dialysis. He found it more difficult to enjoy his hobby as his disease progressed. He worked at his family’s business Allen Body Shop until he began dialysis.
He was preceded in death by his mother, brother, David Russell Allen.
He is survived by his father, Robert Lee Allen, sisters, Donna Rogers (Michael), and Deanna Suter (Steve), nieces, Sara and Emily Suter, Jennifer Mitchell, nephew, Mason Mitchell, great-nephew, Maddox Mitchell.
