Daniel Stuart Greenwood, 51, died at his home on July 15, 2017. He was born on Sept. 18, 1965, in Washington, D.C. He is survived by his daughter, Kelsey LeighAnne Greenwood, of Bennington, Vermont; his mother, Susan Tom, of Decatur; and his brother, Kenneth R. Greenwood Jr., of Littleton, Colorado.
Dan graduated from Decatur High School in 1983 and attended Calhoun Community College and Auburn University.
Dan will be remembered by his friends and family as being kind, intelligent, witty and humble. He had struggled with type one diabetes since the age of 14. A celebration of life gathering will be held on Saturday, July 29, from 4 to 6 p.m. at the Carnegie Visual Arts Center in Decatur. Memorials may be made to the American Diabetes Association, the Decatur Public Library or a favorite charity.
