Mr. Daniel “Joe Joe” McDonald, age 58, of the Mt. View community of Union Grove, Alabama passed away at Marshall Medical Center North on Friday, June 16, 2023. Joe Joe was born September 3, 1964 to Robert Gary McDonald and Nancy Marie Aventa McDonald in North Carolina. His family relocated to the Mt View area where he lived since early childhood. He was married to Melissa Ann Hoffman who has preceded him in death. Joe Joe worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator.
Joe Joe was a man with many interests with family his chief priority. He thoroughly enjoyed his work with the heavy equipment. He spent his leisure time working on vehicles, riding his motorcycle or metal detecting. He loved deep sea fishing and Alabama football.
Family members left behind to cherish memories of Joe Joe include his son, Gary “Bubba” McDonald (Bridgett), daughter, Samantha Ford (Bobby); grandchildren, Benlei McDonald, Kaitlin Jones, Brooklin Jones, Kandyce Parks, Evan Parks, John Williams V and Kynnadi Ford; and brother, Randy McDonald (Teresa Moon).
Preceding Joe Joe in death is his wife, Melissa Hoffman McDonald and his parents, Robert and Nancy McDonald.
A visitation will be at Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel in Arab, Alabama on Monday, June 19, 2023 from 12:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. Family and friends will then reconvene at 3:00 p.m. at Mt. View Baptist Church Cemetery in Union Grove for a graveside service.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to Arab Heritage Memorial Chapel to assist with expenses.
