Mr. Daniel Edward Scott, age 84 of Athens, AL went to be with Jesus on Saturday, May 19, 2018 at Crestwood Medical Center, Huntsville, AL. Mr. Scott was born on June 7, 1933 in Florence, AL to Jesse Edward and Mae Lavinia Gooch Scott.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Mr. Scott is survived by his wife, Edith Lokamas Scott; daughters, Carla Wiseman and husband Todd of Olathe, KS, Monica Davis of Murfreesboro, TN and Sharon Henry of Muscle Shoals, AL; grandchildren, William Wiseman, Katie Wiseman, Jesse Davis, Carly Davis and Madeline Davis; sisters, Doris Scott of Sarasota, FL and Martha Flippo and husband, Charlie of Florence, AL; brother Donald Scott and wife, Peggy of Killen, AL.
Mr. Scott loved his family and was devoted to his church. He lived by the motto, “JOY”: Jesus, Others, You. He enjoyed tennis, golf, the outdoors and the river. He was an avid practical jokester, and he never met a stranger- or anyone he didn’t like. He was most proud of his work on the Saturn Rocket and retired in 1995 from Missile Command (U.S. Army) at Redstone Arsenal.
Services for Mr. Scott will be at 4:00PM Monday, May 21, 2018 at Limestone Chapel Funeral Home with Thomas Martin officiating. The family will receive friends from 2:00-3:45 prior to the service. Burial will take place in Wallace Cemetery.
He will be dearly missed by his family and friends.
